Designs of all kinds : A history of American tattoo supply houses
Clint Vaught and Royal Art Books is pleased to announce
“Designs of Kinds: a History of American tattoo supply Houses”
The designs, catalogs, mailers and ephemera contained in this book look into tattooing’s past through the Lense of industry, artistry and craft.
I conducted this research from 2018 to 2025 as I continually saw a need for a historical index of tattoo supply companies through the early and mid 20th century. My goal was to gather as many paper goods during these years as possibly to share with the tattoo community as to clear up many rumors and speculation about the who, what and when in regards to tattoo designs, machines, pigments and other equipment. Along with plenty of never-before-seen flash.
